Introduction. The topicality of research into the importance and function of the Ossetian language for the preservation and promotion of multilingualism in the communication of doctors is connected with the questions of doctor-patient conversation in the clinics of the North Ossetian Republic of Alania. Therefore, the study of medicine must be oriented towards the multilingual society, since it values the native languages of the medical students, can promote the Ossetian language in our country and can provide space for the development of multilingualism through the teaching of foreign languages and Latin.
Goal of our research. Consists of considering the current development of multilingualism in the clinics of our medical academy and examining the role of the Ossetian language in the doctor-patient conversation. We prepared the survey material for medical students and doctors who speak Ossetian and conducted the survey not only in the clinic of our academy, but also in the hospitals of our republic. The survey of medical students and doctors is the leading research method, along with the analysis of questionnaires and interviews.
Materials of our investigation. Are the publications on the topics "Multilingualism", "Ossetian language", "Communication skills of medical students and doctors". The interrogation materials that we received in various clinics showed that in our republic the Ossetian language plays a major role in doctor-patient communications. It is therefore very important, in the overall concept of all language subjects, to pursue compatible goals and build the languages on one another.
Results of the investigation. The medical studies are conducted exclusively in Russian, but during the internship and in the specialist training, also later in the clinics, it is observed that a progression from Russian to the Ossetian language takes place in doctor-patient conversations, so that the medical students, in addition to communicating in the Russian language can also use the Ossetian language, depending on the corresponding language requirements. The summary of the survey results means that the productive skills in the form of the oral doctor-patient conversation in the clinics of the North Ossetian Republic of Alania are observed first of all. In the multilingual context, the Ossetian language plays a role above all in the doctor-patient conversation and must be taken into account by the medical students during the clinical internship and in the specialist training.
