In recent years, there has been a sharp decline in the level of speech development of preschoolers. First of all, this is due to the deterioration of children's health. Today, many children have a lower level of speech development than normal by the age of five, and they need the help of speech therapists.
Let's look at how story-based role-playing affects the development of children's coherent speech. Play is a special form of social life for preschoolers, in which they unite, act independently, and carry out their plans. Play activities contribute to the mental and physical development of the child, the upbringing of moral and volitional qualities, and creative abilities. That is why the Soviet teacher V. A. Sukhomlinsky emphasized: "The game is a huge bright window through which a life—giving stream of ideas and concepts about the surrounding world flows into the spiritual world of a child. The game is a spark that ignites the flame of curiosity and curiosity."
The problem of plot-role play for preschool children was studied by such scientists as E. A. Arkin, P. A. Rudik, D. V. Menzheritskaya, A. P. Usova, L. S. Vygotsky, A. N. Leontiev, P. Ya. Galperin, V. V. Davydov, A.V. Zaporozhets and many others. Researchers note the value of the game, its conventionality, and also point to its importance in shaping social behavior, self-affirmation of a person, and the ability to predict his behavior in a communication situation.
Despite the increasing role of story-based role-playing games, there are still insufficiently developed issues related to the technology of using this method for the development of coherent speech in children aged 5-6 years. In this regard, teachers have difficulty developing classes that involve the use of certain plot-role-playing techniques to develop coherent speech. All this allowed us to identify the problem of the study: what are the pedagogical conditions for using the method of story-role-playing games for the development of coherent speech in older preschool children. That is why our chosen theme: "The development of coherent speech in older preschool children through story-based role-playing games" is relevant for research.
At the ascertaining and control stages of the experiment, the following diagnostic techniques were used: to determine the initial level of formation of coherent speech, a modification of V. P. Glukhov's method "Examination of coherent speech" was used; to identify the level of formation of gaming skills, G. A. Uruntayeva's method; O. S. Ushakova's method "Diagnosis of speech development in preschoolers".
Experimental research base: MBDOU "Kindergarten No. 3 "Golden key"" P. Medvedevo. The experiment involved preschoolers of the experimental group "Lily of the Valley" (12 people), as well as preschoolers of the control group "Sunflowers" (12 people). A total of 24 preschoolers participated in the experimental work.
The purpose of the ascertaining experiment was to find out the available vocabulary and the level of formation of gaming skills in older preschoolers. The following tasks were set for this purpose:
To identify the level of coherence in the speech of older preschoolers.
To determine the level of formation of gaming skills in children of experimental and control groups.
Compare the results obtained in the experimental and control groups.
At the first stage of the diagnosis of older preschoolers, V. P. Glukhov's method "Examination of coherent speech" was used, which consisted of 5 tasks.
Using this technique, it turned out that the experimental group identified 3 children with a high level of coherent speech (25%), 3 children with an average level (25%), and 6 preschoolers with a low level (50%). In the control group, 5 children (42%) had a high level of coherent speech formation, 4 children (33%) had an average level, and 3 children (25%) had a low level.
To identify the level of formation of gaming skills, the method of G. A. Uruntayeva was chosen, according to which observations were carried out in natural conditions for independent story-role play of children aged 5-7 years.
According to this diagnosis, the following results were obtained: in the experimental group, 4 children with a high level of formation of gaming skills (33%), 3 preschoolers with an average level (25%), and 5 children with a low level (42%) were identified. In the control group, 6 preschoolers (50%) had a high level, 4 children (33%) had an average level, and 2 preschoolers (17%) had a low level.
The following diagnosis was carried out according to O. S. Ushakova's method "Diagnostics of speech development of preschoolers". The goal is to determine the level of development of coherent speech in children aged 5-6 years.
According to O. S. Ushakova's diagnosis, the following results were obtained: in the experimental group, 4 children with a high level of speech development (33%), 3 with an average level (25%), and 5 preschoolers with a low level (42%) were identified. In the control group, 6 children (50%) had a high level, 4 preschoolers (33%) had an average level, and 2 children (17%) had a low level of speech development.
Thus, the results of the ascertaining stage of the experiment showed that older preschool children have insufficiently developed coherent speech.
Currently, a formative experiment is being conducted with children of the experimental group.
The purpose of this stage is to show how the level of speech development increases in the process of story-role-playing with older preschool children. All story-role-playing games contain coherent texts (a story from personal experience, a description story, a story based on a series of plot pictures, a retelling, a continuation of the story based on this beginning).
For preschoolers, games such as:
The story-role-playing game "Journey" (a story from personal experience).
The plot-role-playing game "Barbershop" (story-description).
In total, 16 games were selected at the formative stage, which contribute to the development of coherent speech in older preschoolers.
